Jessica Simpson born as Jessica Ann Simpson on July 10th, 1980 in Abilene, Texas is a magnificent American actress and singer, who has seven Billboard Top 40 hits, three gold and two multi-platinum albums.

Jessica Simpson was born to Tina and Joe Truett Simpson, a reverend. She has an older sister Ashlee Simpson, who is equally a renowned singer and actress like her. Jessica Simpson grew up singing at her local Baptist Church since her childhood. Jessica who unsuccessfully auditioned for The Mickey Mouse Club has recorded a music album with Proclaim Records while continuing her education at J.J. Pearce High School. But the album was never released as the recording company went bankrupt. Jessica Simpson undaunted left school at the age of sixteen and began singing gospel numbers for various Christian musicians.

Soon Jessica's musical talents reached wider audiences. Meantime her independent album has reached the desk of Tommy Mottola, the then President of Columbia Records marking thus the beginning of her singing career. She released her first album "Sweet Kisses" in 1999, which reached double platinum status. However to make the album a grand success Jessica Simpson toured along with Ricky Martin and 98 Degrees, where she met Nick Lachey, a prominent member of the boy band 98 Degrees and began dating him. The couple appeared on the widely popular MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica in 2002.

Jessica Simpson released her second album "Irresistible" in 2001, which was a moderate success and received gold certification. Her third album "In This Skin" released in 2003 has sold over seven million copies worldwide and became the biggest selling album to date. The album achieved quadrupled platinum. Her fourth album "A Public Affair" released in 2006 has however disappointed Jessica Simpson's fans. Jessica released her fifth album "Do You Know" in 2008, which was a country music based album. Jessica has also released a couple of other albums such as "This Is the Remix", a remix album in 2002 and "Rejoyce: The Christmas Album" in 2004.
